E-scooter and e-bike batteries have been notorious for starting serious house fires but the Li Guard e-battery bags can bring instant peace of mind.
Specially designed for these kind of batteries, the Li-Guard lithium battery fire insulator bags are designed to snugly fit the batteries inside. There is also an alternative Li-Guard product which straps around the e-bike battery while it’s still on the bike.
Although the Li-Guard bags are engineered for safety they’re really stylish too and will mitigate a fire caused by an e-bike battery going into thermal runaway and reduce the risk of the battery exploding while containing toxic gases.
When lithium batteries overheat or are damaged they go into thermal runaway and when this happens one cell in a battery can produce enough heat – up to 900°C (1652°F) – to cause adjacent cells to overheat.
The heat generated by chemical reactions inside the battery causes even more heat, leading to a continuous rise in temperature. This can result in the battery venting and releasing toxic flammable gases, catching fire or even exploding and, because they burn at such a high temperature, they’re very difficult if not impossible to put out using conventional fire extinguishers.
Li-Guard have also devised a fire containment bag for laptops as people travel extensively on public transport – planes, trains, boats and taxis – with them and use them in the home and office.
Li-Guard are industrial strength products certified to European safety standards to give you the highest level of lithium fire protection in your home or on the move.
